Cpl. Adam Wolff

OTTUMWA — Cpl. Adam F. Wolff USMC, 25, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Ottumwa, died June 20, 2014 in Afghanistan.

He was born July 16, 1988 in Ottumwa to Nicholas and Deborah Christy Wolff.

Adam was a 2006 graduate of Cardinal High School. While living in Cedar Rapids, he worked at Casey’s and A&W Restaurant. He was a gamer, enjoyed 4 wheeling, motorcycles and paint ball. Adam spent a great deal of time outdoors spending time with siblings while growing up.

He joined the United States Marine Corps in December 2012, and was promoted to Lance Corporal on February 1, 2014. He was posthumously promoted to Corporal. He was a member of the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, NC.

Adam is survived by his parents, Nicholas Wolff and Deborah Hall both of Ottumwa; two brothers, his twin, Aaron Wolff and Nathan (Michele) Baughan both of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Amanda (Scott) Vance of Philadelphia, PA, Jesse Wolff of Seattle, WA and Angela (Shane) Malone of Ottumwa; grandmother, Rosemary Christy of Ottumwa; grandfather, Franklin Wolff of Seattle, WA; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandfather, Gene Christy, grandmother, Marilyn Wolff and cousin, Travis Worten.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Bridge View Center with Pastor Mark Hornback officiating.

Burial will be in Fiedler Cemetery with military honors conducted by Echo Company 2nd Battalion Marines.

Visitation begins at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Fisher House.
