Altercation at courthouse

Knoxville — A suspect being taken in on outstanding warrants got into an altercation with a bail bondsman at the Marion County Courthouse this morning.

Sheriff Jason Sandholdt tells the Journal-Express that a bail bondsman was bringing John Duane Followill into court on the fourth floor. This resulted in an altercation between Followill and the bondsman. Followill attacked the bondsman, but no serious injuries were reported for either subject. Knoxville Fire/Rescue was called to check on Followill, but he was transported to the Marion County Jail on existing warrants, as well as new charges expected to be filed.

We'll keep you updated on this as more information becomes available.
