Weather forces road closures

Knoxville — Marion County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum has closed several area roads around the county, due to concern of flooding.

Current road closures include:

• 30th Pl South of 92

• 92nd South of Illinois Dr

• 25th South of 92

• 108th Pl South of Perry

• 160th Pl @ Dubuque

• 130th East of 80th

• Kennedy St (West of S71)

• Quebec Dr. East of 30th Ave

• Newbold East of Hwy 5

Schletzbaum said these are low-volume roads which tend to flash flood. They should not be closed for long.

"We're just keeping an eye on them," Schletzbaum said. "It just depends on how much more rain we get."

Drivers are reminded to not attempt to drive through standing water.
