M-D kids collect for food pantry

Melcher-Dallas — Melcher-Dallas Elementary students exceeded their goal of collecting 1,000 items of food for the Melcher-Dallas Food Pantry.

The students have been bringing in food since Nov. 11. Tuesday, Nov. 26, was the final day of collection.

The top donating class was Mrs. Haning's fifth grade. They will be treated to a pizza party for their efforts.

Principal Mike Horstman said the students will also be treated to seeing a staff member take a pie in the face. He was hopeful that the students would not choose him.
