Improvements, preparations being made at Knoxville Raceway

Knoxville — Workers have been busy improving the safety guardrail and fence around the Knoxville Raceway.

A company from Victor is going around the track, replacing the metal guardrails around the perimeter. Outside of the track, maintenance workers are straightening the wooden posts that help support the safety equipment. Many of the posts appear to lean back, causing the perimter fence to lean. A difference can be seen among the posts that have already been fixed.

Knoxville Raceway opens for practice April 13, with the championship cup season beginning Saturday, April 20.
