Veterans Day events on Friday

Knoxville — Marion County Republicans will host "A Salute to Marion County Veterans" on Friday, Nov. 8, at 9 a.m. at Sprint Car Hall of Fame Museum, Knoxville.  There will be speakers, refreshments, music, and tributes.   

Flags will be raised at Graceland Cemetery at 7 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8. 
There will be a brief memorial tribute at the Veterans' Plot after the flag raising. A free breakfast for participants will follow at the VFW. 
Flags will be taken down at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12. Everyone is welcome to join the American Legion, VFW, Boy and Girl Scouts.
