Slideshow: Public Works visits Northstar

Knoxville — Several City of Knoxville staff members, from all departments, visited Northstar Elementary Tuesday afternoon. Much of their equipment was brought with them.

Vehicles from the City of Knoxville's Street, Wastewater, Cemetery, Fire, Rescue and Police Departments were parked in the lot for the fifth grade students at Northstar to take a close-up look. Department heads from each department shared information about what the pieces of equipment do, as well as what their individual departments do for the City.

The 125 children and their teachers were attentive. Public Works employees have traditionally visited Northstar Elementary to share information with the students, but this was the first time the equipment was brought to the school.
