Red Ribbon Bakery receives check

Knoxville — Representatives from the Iowa Innovation Gateway were in Knoxville Monday to present Lisa Marshall with a check for $5,000.

As reported, Marshall's business, the Red Ribbon Bakery, recently won the regional Dream Big, Grow Here contest. The official presentation of the award took place on Monday.

Marshall said she intends to use the funding to purchase equipment and expand the bakery aspect of her business. She also expressed her enthusiasm to have Second Street open for more parking and traffic.

By winning the regional contest, she is entered for the statewide prize of $10,000.
