Motorist dies in one-vehicle accident Sunday

OSKALOOSA —

A motorist died in a one-vehicle accident on 170th Street, east of Oxford Avenue early Sunday morning.

According to an accident report from the Iowa State Patrol, the fatality accident occurred at 12:01 a.m. Sunday.

A 1997 Ford truck was traveling west on 170th Street near Oxford Avenue when the driver lost control and went off the roadway. The vehicle rolled and came to rest in the south ditch, according to the accident report.

The accident remains under investigation and the name of the driver is being withheld, pending notification of the next of kin, according to the accident report.

The Mahaska County Sheriff's Office assisted the State Patrol at the scene, according to the accident report.
