Knoxville — As the Knoxville Morning Kiwanis draw nearer to its initial $70,000 goal in the Young's Park project, the club took time out this afternoon to thank two who have helped make it possible.

Tina Freeland of Express Signs and Graphics, and Tom and Becky Ramaker of Ramaeker Screen Printing, have assisted the club in creating materials for the project.

In addition to designing the progress sign that stands along Highway 14, Freeland has also written grants and assisted with mailings, including thank-you letters, for the club.

"She's done a fantastic job in helping to raise $64,000 to date," Fundraising Chair Ernie Smith said. "We are now only $6,000 short of the $70,000 needed to start Phase I."

Ramaekers have designed a t-shirt that will be sold as an additional fundraiser. The shirts will be available soon.

Kiwanis will be placing coffee cans at various locations to further its fundraising efforts. For more information, contact Smith.
