Knoxville — The Marion County Heritage Community Foundation presented a check to the Marion County Genealogical Society this morning.
The funds will help the Society, after it recently purchased a Scan Pro 800 device. This machine allows microfilm to be read on a computer screen. The Society still has the old reader, available for use, but this new piece of equipment is smaller and easier to use.
The Society has a bin full of records about the County at the Knoxville Public Library. The Journal-Express and other items of historical significance are still placed on microfilm.
