Knoxville — Iowa State Savings Bank held its annual Customer and Community Appreciation Dinner today. The bank was expecting to serve around 800 people a free lunch.
"We're very thankful for the weather," Bank Spokesman David Hoke said. The sun was shining and the temperature was around 70 degrees between 11 a.m.-1 p.m., when lunch was served. Hoke was concerned about what the day would bring, as the temperature was 105 on the day he came to place an announcement about the event.
"This is a gift," Hoke said.
This was the seventh year for the appreciation dinner. It is intended to thank the community and the bank's customers for their continued support of Knoxville's hometown bank.
