KNOXVILLE — The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce has announced the nomination of seven individuals interested in joining the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

The nominations mark a significant step forward for the chamber, as it continues to build a strong foundation to support the local business community and foster community pride throughout Knoxville.

The seven esteemed nominees, include:

Jim Baker, Leighton State Bank; Perry Hager, Fareway; Ashley Kline, Chasing Positivity; Douglas Gay, Hyvee; Katherine Shawver, Knoxville Aviation; Kelly Mitchell, Des Moines Area Community College; and Robert Poppe, Marion County Bank.

Each nominee brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective that will undoubtedly contribute to the chamber's vision for the future. Their diverse backgrounds, combined with a shared passion for fostering a thriving business environment in Knoxville, promise to add invaluable insight to the Board of Directors.

The upcoming elections, scheduled for December, will provide an opportunity for the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce members to participate actively in the selection process. Following the elections, the new board members will officially assume their roles in January, bringing fresh ideas and renewed energy to the chamber's mission of promoting local businesses, fostering innovation and driving economic prosperity in the Knoxville area.
