Chapman death ruled accidental

Steve Woodhouse

Knoxville Knoxville Fire Chief Mike Roberts reports that an autopsy performed on the body of Michael Chapman, 55, of Knoxville, shows Chapman died of smoke inhalation. Chapman died in a Dec. 3, 2009, fire in his home. Firefighters discovered his body in a room adjacent to the living room, where the fire started. His body was sent for an autopsy to rule out foul play in the fire.

The fire is ruled accidental. Look for more on this in the Jan. 29 Journal-Express.
