Chapman death ruled accidental

Knoxville — Knoxville Fire Chief Mike Roberts reports that an autopsy performed on the body of Michael Chapman, 55, of Knoxville, shows Chapman died of smoke inhalation. Chapman died in a Dec. 3, 2009, fire in his home. Firefighters discovered his body in a room adjacent to the living room, where the fire started. His body was sent for an autopsy to rule out foul play in the fire.
