Knoxville — The Knoxville Rotary Club awarded 16 scholarships worth a total of $8,000 at its regular meeting on Wednesday.
Mike Lane, Chairman of Rotary's Scholarship Committee, believes that the 2014 scholarship amount brings the total of money provided by Knoxville Rotary to scholars to over $133,000. Earning Rotary scholarships were Carrie Adrian, Brianna Davis, Brody Dingle, Brenden Finan, Chase Higginbotham, Rachel Humeston, Marissa Lenger, Megan Molloy, Rachel Morgan, Maggie Murphy, Jory Wallace, Rachel Worthington and Pleasantville's Kaylea Thill.
Receiving health care scholarships were Maddie Chrisman and Jamie Hunt. Bradley Shearer was awarded the Lela Harp scholarship.
Though the students were recognized at the Rotary meeting, the scholarships will be awarded Wednesday night, May 21, during the annual Dollars for Scholars scholarship/award night. The event begins at 7 p.m. It is open to the public.
