The application window is closed for an officer’s job opening with the Knoxville Police Department. Chief Dan Losada is currently reviewing them.
Losada said the department accepted 30 applications. Testing dates for the one open position will be announced at a later time.
The applications remain good for one year. Losada can review them if another position becomes vacant in that time.
Also this week, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office has conducted interviews for two deputy positions.
The process is down to 10 applicants, and interviews continued Tuesday. Sheriff Jason Sandholdt said he hopes to make a selection and announcement of the new deputies within two weeks.
