Dr. Andrew Secory began to work in Dr. Steve Mott's dentist office in mid-June. Secory, 29, has enjoyed Knoxville so much, he plans to be here for a while.
Originally from Clear Lake, Secory grew up among people working in the health care industry. His father and brother both work in health care. As he began to think about a career, he wanted to enter health care as well.
Secory earned a Bachelor's Degree at Wartburg College before moving on to the University of Iowa. He graduated from the U of I Dental School in 2010. His first job in the field was in Perry.
When the opportunity arose in Knoxville, he looked into it. As he got to know Mott and the office's operation, he realized it would be a good fit. Doctors Mott and Secory share the same philosophy when practicing dentistry and their personalities mesh well.
Secory became interested in dentistry after shadowing a dentist. The opportunity to do different things attracted him to the industry. In Knoxville, he is offering comprehensive dental care – everything except Orthodontics.
For Mott's patients, they will see little change in their dental care. Secory is keeping the same staff.
Secory, and wife of nearly two years, Sarah, and their Teddy Bear dog, live in Monroe. They chose Monroe because Sarah works in Des Moines.
Secory intends to become involved in the Knoxville community as much as he can. In his spare time, his favorite activity is playing golf.
An Open House is being planned in the future for Secory. Knoxville's friendliness has already impressed Secory, and he is eager to meet many more people. Chances are, Secory will become a longtime fixture in town.
