Renovations to begin at City Hall

City of Knoxville

Knoxville —

Renovations to City Hall will be underway for the next two weeks. The contractor will be closing off the northwest entrance on Montgomery Street for two days to demolish existing walls and section off the area under construction. The entrance will then be reopened to the public. Please use the police department entrance for access to City Hall.

The City Council approved minor renovations to City Hall to enhance a reception/welcome area. The current entrance is very confusing to residents, who enter the building and find themselves confused by walking into office spaces. In an effort to improve the reception area, the City will spend $4,800 to remove two existing walls to create a greater reception area with a new countertop. The Deputy City Clerk will occupy the new reception area to welcome visitors and the public who visit City Hall. This minor renovation is another to improve customer service at the City of Knoxville.

For questions about the renovation, please contact Dylan Feik, Assistant City Manager, at (641) 828-0550, ext. 224.
