Sugar Plum Fairy Ball set for Dec. 14

The Second Annual Sugar Plum Fairy Ball is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14, from 6:30-9 p.m.

This ball is one in which girls ages 5-12 are invited to come with their dads, grandpas, uncles or other special men in their lives for a night of dancing and fun.

Proceeds will benefit the Knoxville Public Library’s expansion project.

Pennie Sommar, who worked with organizing committee members Kelsie Chambers, Lily Maasdam, Missy Gray and Deb Lippert, said music will be provided by disc jockey Keri Garrison. Candi’s Flowers is offering special corsages for the event for $10 each and Treasured Portraits will be at the dance to take pictures.

This is a semi-formal event.

The ball, which will be held at Celebrate Community Church, will include a dessert bar, raffle and prizes. Sommar said that everyone who attends will go home with a gift.

Tickets for the ball go on sale Nov. 15 for $25 per couple and $10 for each additional child. Tickets are available at Iowa State Savings Bank and Eye Health Solution.

Sommar said the ball is the most exciting event with which she has ever had the pleasure to be involved.

She is looking forward to the event and eager to benefit the library.
