The Marion County Fair Board believes this year’s fair was a success.
“We had a good fair,” Board member Dan Findley said. He shared with the board the comments he had heard from others about the board’s efforts to make improvements to the facility, and to the fair overall.
Findley also reported that every grandstand event, including the Hairball concert and rodeo, made money. The lawn mower race and kids’ night at the races were also fantastic, he added.
Board member Mark Drost previously met with ISU Extension. According to Drost, Extension representatives expressed their appreciation to the board for their efforts.
Improvements to the fairgrounds included work on the horse and hog barns, as well as the grandstand steps.
