Board selects superintendent search firm

Steve Woodhouse

Knoxville — The Knoxville School Board voted at a special meeting last night to hire G. Tryon and Associates of Johnston to facilitate the search for a new superintendent.

Superintendent Randy Flack is taking early retirement at the conclusion of this school year after 24 years of employment with the district.

Flack said that the firm's fee, if all of its services are utilized, will be $9,720. The board is scheduled to resume its discussion about the superintendent search on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m., in the board room at 309 West Main. The topics are expected to include identifying key characteristics and experiences the board feels are most important for a candidate to possess, Flack added.

The meeting is open to the public.
