KMS Winter Concert set

Pella — The Knoxville Middle School sixth, seventh and eight grade bands will perform its annual Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m., at KMS. Some of the tunes the bands will perform include “White Christmas,” “Good King Wenseslas,” “Stomping on the House Top,” “Jingle Bells” and “Kansas City Can Can.”

There are 126 students involved in band in KMS. Tim McBride is the director of the bands, and he also provides lessons to the students each week. KHS Band Instructor Ben Varner assists with the sixth grade as well.

“It's been great,” McBride said of his first year with the district. “It's been really nice. (The students) are very talented.”

The event is free and open to the public. The bands will have two more performances this school year, in March and May.
