Collectors' Roadshow coming to Knoxville

Knoxville — A group of traveling collectors are coming to Knoxville Aug. 13-17. A spokesman said the group is eager to buy antiques from local residents.

The purchasers coming to town say they are looking for old electronics, gold, silver, coins and antiques. Spokesman Frank Ross said the group is not coming to sell local residents anything, not even insurance policies on their newfound valuables. He said the goal of this group is to leave money in Knoxville, not take it. Ross said the group will pay cash for these items.

Other types of memorabilia the group is seeking include toys made before 1965, ware memorabilia (especially metals), musical instruments, diamonds and jewelry.

The event will be held at the Cobblestone Inn, 1212 Eric Drive, Tuesday through Saturday, Aug. 13-17, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The closing time on Saturday is 4 p.m.
