Knoxville — The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce recently reinstated the Executive Director position to full-time.
Executive Director Larissa Van Donselaar said she is glad that the Chamber Board made this decision. When Van Donselaar was originally hired to fill the position, her children demanded more time. As time has progressed, Van Donselaar is able to spend more time performing Chamber business.
The Chamber was struggling with debt and finances approximately five years ago. The decision was made to not restaff a full-time position. Van Donselaar believes the Chamber and its members have seen more success, which is how this change became possible. She adds that the Chamber currently has no debt.
The position is salaried. The Chamber Board is scheduled to meet Wednesday, March 19, at 7 a.m.
