Knoxville — A single-vehicle accident occurred around 8:29 a.m. Tuesday morning, Dec. 31, on Highway 5.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Jill Rose Sager, 46, of Pleasantville, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet light pickup truck northbound on Highway 5 when crossing the bridge over Highway 92 near Attica Road. Due to icy conditions, the truck left the roadway to the right and rolled as it entered the ditch, where the truck came to rest.
Evasive action was taken by the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. She was wearing her seatbelt. Sager was uninjured.
The vehicle was totaled in the crash, and around $1,500 in damage was done to a post and two guardrails that belong to the Iowa Department of Transportation.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office and Knoxville Fire/Rescue responded to the scene. The accident report was filed by Chief Deputy Troy Fisher.
