Council, School Board meetings tonight

Knoxville — The Knoxville City Council will meet in special session tonight at 6:15 p.m. at City Hall. Prior to that, at 5:30 p.m., the Knoxville School Board will meet at the school administration office.

On the council's agenda is a discussion regarding Section 42 housing. This was previously discussed at a special council meeting on Thursday, Oct. 27. Section 42 housing is for low to moderate income households. The council will also discuss whether or not it wants to join the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

As for the school board, members are expected to determine whether or not the Knoxville Schooting Club should become a letter-earning activity and if a middle school team should be sponsored.

With the schools' new security system scheduled to go online today, Superintendent Randy Flack intends to share a report with the board regarding the success or failure of it.

The board will also consider early retirement incentives for these employees:

• Sherrl Wing

• Jo Ann Lee

• Andrea Rankin

• Donna Flack

• Vicky Ethell

The board will also review current bus routes.

Look for full reports on these meetings in the Nov. 1 print edition.
