Knoxville — The Knoxville School Board met in regular session on Monday, October 22nd. The board was presented with the certified enrollment numbers. Knoxville Schools have seen a drop of about 50 students since last year. Last year’s certified enrollment was 1,868.7. This year’s enrollment is 1,818.7. Future projections are for a continue decline in enrollment.

The board had a short agenda. They voted to approve the science club trip to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area on November 2-4. The board gave approval to a boy’s basketball camp for students in grades 3-8. A work agreement for Rod Brodie was approved. Mr. Brodie will serve as a one-on-one associate at Northstar Elementary.

Dr. Randy Flack gave the board updates on the track reconstruction and the auditorium construction. It was noted that the Auditorium committee will meet on Monday, October 29th to pick out seating materials.

The board members discussed the upcoming school board convention in Des Moines to be held on November 14-15.
