Knoxville — A trio of Knoxville residents are facing charges after allegedly smoking marijuana in an apartment together Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, a call came in from a neighbor to report the strong smell of the drug. Detective Kyle Keller responded to the location, 106 West Robinson, and could also smell it. After obtaining a search warrant, he returned to the address, apartment number 104.
Inside, he allegedly found four grams of marijuana, "blunts," rolling papers, grinders and a pipe. The apartment's resident, Melinda Hope Stamper, 40, along with Chuncie Lashane Miller, 28, and Curtis Lane Benson, 61, allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana together in the apartment's back bedroom.
All three suspects are charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for June 14 at 1:30 p.m.
