Foundation holds Annual Night Out

The Journal Express

---- — With over 175 attendees, the 8th annual Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Foundation Annual Night Out held on Saturday, November 16, was a huge success. Funds raised by the event go towards the purchase of a new Cryostat which is used to help sustain very low temperatures for many medical, engineering, and scientific uses.

This year’s entertainment was casino night and attendees visited the Roulette, Blackjack and Texas Hold ‘Em tables. Attendees were able to use their winnings from the table games to win great prizes. Knoxville native, Heidi (Suhr) Feldman, accompanied by Broadway musical director and conductor, Kevin Finn, provided music throughout the evening.

“We are very pleased with the way everything turned out for the Annual Night Out this year,” stated Katrina Nelson, Director of Public Relations & Foundation at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics. “This has become a unique and exciting event for Knoxville community and we are happy that we can continue planning a fun night where individuals learn more about our Foundation and we can raise money for a good cause.”

Eight years ago the Foundation began the tradition of honoring an individual in the Knoxville community with the McKeever Award of Excellence in honor of longtime physician, Dr. Earl McKeever. The recipient of the award is honored for exhibiting an act of excellence through their dedication and commitment. This year’s recipient of the McKeever Award of Excellence was presented to Knoxville businessman and KHC Board of Trustee member, Mel Suhr.
