Knoxville — A benefit is being planned for Saturday, July 12, at Knoxville High School for Caylee Pettyjohn.
Calyee, daughter of Trevor and Emilee Pettyjohn, was born April 21, 2008. At the age of 10 months, she was diagnosed with a left MCA stroke that occurred at birth. She later developed Epilepsy, due to the stroke. She has been resistant to anti-seizure medication and will have brain surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. this summer.
Friends and family are planning a benefit with a silent auction on Saturday, July 12, at KHS, to assist the family with expenses. Donations can also be made at Wells Fargo Bank under the Caylee Pettyjohn Benefit Fund and at http://www.youcaring.com/cayleepettyjohn.
A 5K Walk/Run is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. July 12, with the benefit beginning at 4 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee for the 5K, which begins at the Knoxville Recreation Center. A free will donation supper, children's activities, bags tournament and silent auction are planned. The Lucas Beebe Band will play from 4:30-6 p.m.
