Knoxville — A Poker Run is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, to benefit the family of Lauren Lettington.

Lettington, you may recall, is the Vermeer employee who was severely injured in Germany in November. He has since been transferred to a facility in Chicago, where he continues to recover with his family nearby. Vermeer, by all accounts, has provided great assistance to Lettington and his family, but organizers of the Poker Run want to provide more resources for the family.

Organizer Katie Todd said the event has attracted several donations, including items for a silent auction. The ride itself will begin with registration at the Knoxville VFW at 10 a.m. "Kick stands up" will be at 11 a.m.

Registration will be $10 per rider or $15 per couple. The payout of the poker hand will be determined. A 50/50 raffle will be part of the event, and a silent auction will be held at Candyland Station in Grinnell.
