Knoxville — A Donaldson Delivery boom truck struck a secondary power line in an alley near the corner of Brobst and Robinson around 11:15 a.m.

The force of the ensuing electricity went through the body of the vehicle. Impact of this surge was so powerful, the rubber tire on the passenger side was blown and taken off of the rim.

A man was inside the vehicle at the time. He was being evaluated by Knoxville Rescue personnel, but did not appear to have any injuries. Fire Chief Nick Bonstell said the man was "shaken up." Had anyone been touching the vehicle at the time of impact, he or she would not have survived.

The Knoxville Fire Department was inspecting the vehicle to check for possible fires. The electric company has been called to check on the line.

Fire and Police officials are still on the scene.
