Knoxville — John Archer, Republican candidate for Iowa's Second Congressional District, stopped at the Coffee Connection in Knoxville today to speak with voters.
The Coffee Connection was full as Archer made his way around the tables to meet with those in attendance. He did not have any prepared remarks. Instead, he came to listen to what was on the minds of Marion County voters.
Archer said he feels he has a great deal of momentum as he faces the last full week of the campaign. He credits some of his momentum to that of the Romney-Ryan ticket.
As previously reported, Knoxville Mayor Don Zoutte announced his endorsement of Archer's opponent, Dave Loebsack. Archer said he is proud to have the endorsements he has received.
"We realize we're not going to get every endorsement," Archer said.
If elected, Archer said he plans to spend the remainder of November and December, before taking office, traveling around the district to get to know more people, to learn more about their priorities in 2013.
