Knoxville — A fire alarm at the Marion County Care Facility brought several first responders out, but it was a false alarm.

Knoxville Township Fire Chief Kenny Thompson said everything was all right in the building. Thompson and other first responders swept through the building.

Care Facility Administrator Angie Smith said the alarm just went off. She was unsure of the reason, but said the first responders did a great job.

Residents of the Care Facility had been evacuated into a nearby structure. They were let back into the Care Facility prior to the fire department leaving.

Agencies who responded to the call included the Knoxville Township Fire Department, Knoxville Fire/Rescue, Marion County Sheriff's Office and Marion County Emergency Management.
