Knoxville — Today is the annual City of Knoxville Chili Cookoff. There are eight entries, vying for the coveted Golden Ladle this year.
Each year, City staff members and officials are invited to make their best chili concoction and enter it in the contest. There are eight entries this year.
Winners are selected from votes cast by those who come to City Hall to try the chili. The top three vote-getters are recognized, and the top prize is the Golden Ladle, which can be displayed until next year's cookoff.
Police Chief Dan Losada will announce the winners later today.
