Busy weekend in Knoxville

Knoxville — This weekend will be packed with activity throughout Knoxville, and there are many opportunities to volunteer.

The Knoxville Regional Livestock Market will host the Livestock Marketing Association's Would Livestock Auctioneer Championships on Saturday. The market will welcome the 31 best auctioneers in the world, who will compete for the title by auctioning off 4,500 cattle. Meanwhile, with the numbers of people who will be in town, the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce is seeking hosts to help with the event. To volunteer, and for more information, call the Chamber at 641-828-7555.

Look for more on the championships later.

Saturday will also be the second annual June Jamboree. This event, to be held in Young's Park, also includes a 5K race. The City of Knoxville is seeking volunteers to assist with this. Please call Assistant City Manager Dylan Feik at 641-828-0551 to volunteer. More information on the Jamboree is still to come.

The Family Fun Fair will be taking place Saturday as well, from 9:30 a.m.-noon, at Auld Park.

Look for coverage of these events in the June 27 print edition.
