ACTS working with Habitat

Steve Woodhouse

Melcher-Dallas — A Call to Serve (ACTS) Ministries volunteers are in Melcher-Dallas this morning, removing shingles from a roof as part of a Habitat for Humanity rehabilitation project.

ACTS founders Joel Bennett and Jamie Gyolai, along with Kyle Nelson, volunteered to do the work at 104 NE Second Street. Habitat has hired a roofing company to finish the new roof later this week.

Bennett said he was contacted about getting a team together for the project. He said this is a good arrangement between ACTS and Habitat. The two organizations have previously worked together on new homes, but believes this is the first renovation project for which they have partnered.
