First Federated Study Club members met on Sept. 10 for the Kick Off Salad Luncheon at the home of Pat Schrad. Maureen Miller was co-hostess and Christa Belknap was greeter. Twelve members were in attendance.
President Mary Lane presided at the meeting. It was opened with the reading of the Collect by Lavonne Andrew.
The minutes of the May meeting were approved. Maureen gave her treasurer’s report, along with information about the Scholarship Endowment Fund and the Job family contribution for a scholarship, intended for a Knoxville High School senior, in memory of their mother, Julia Job.
Several pieces of correspondence were read and discussed. The yearly program books were distributed. The monthly programs were were reviewed, along with information about local projects, active and inactive members.
Past President Barbara Larson brought to our attention that the club will reach 100 years of existence, an occasion that we will gladly celebrate. Various ideas were mentioned and will be explored in the months to come.
The Combined Brunch with Mentor Study Club will take place on Oct. 17 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 9:30 a.m.
