Marion County Sheriff's Report

March 7

In the past 24 hours, the office received 103 calls and seven 911 calls.

In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 26 calls for service, including, but not limited to, two motorist assists, one suspicious vehicle, one suspicious person, one unlicensed driver, one road condition, one call returned, two vehicle unlocks, 15 paper services, one reckless driver and one extra patrol.

The jail is currently holding 37 subjects. In the past 24 hours, three subjects were booked into the jail. Zachary Robert Rozenboom is charged with simple domestic abuse assault and a prescription drug violation; Lane Hunter Whitaker is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and Keith Wayne Piersel was served a warrant.

March 8

In the past 24 hours, the office fielded 85 calls and nine 911 calls.

In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 27 calls for service, including, but not limited to, seven extra patrols, two return phone calls, one motorist assist, one incomplete 911, one suspicious person, 14 attempts at paper service and one suspicious vehicle.

The jail is currently holding 39 subjects. In the past 24 hours, two people were booked into the jail. Charles Robert Mason was brought in on a court order and Benjamin Aljo Richards is charged with driving while suspended.

March 9

In the past 24 hours, the office fielded 66 calls and five 911 calls.

In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 17 calls for service, including, but not limited to, four extra patrols, one suicidal subject, one animal, four attempts at paper service, one suspicious person, one attempt to locate, one motorist assist, one accident, one incomplete 911 call, one suspicious vehicle and returned one other call.

The jail is currently holding 42 subjects. In the past 24 hours, one person was booked into the jail. Martin Lopes Orozco is charged with filing a false report to law enforcement, failure to have a valid license and no insurance.

  • Playground to be closed

    The wooden playground structure at Auld Park will be closed Thursday, while the City applies a new coat of sealant. Caution tape will be placed around the structure. When the sealant dries, the structure will be reopened.

Football coaches Jay McKinstrey of Pella and Eric Keller of Knoxville led the south team, which won 23-7. The Pleasantville High School Dance Team also played a big role in the pregame festivities.

The show will feature some familiar Knoxville faces, including lead character "Cat in the Hat" performed by Knoxville High School student Colby Jones and "Horton the Elephant" played by 3M employee Todd Weber. Other Knoxville actors include Greg May as the General and Liz DeMoss as a Who.
