Cecil Mildred Cooper England

Princeton, Mo. —  

Cecil Mildred Cooper England was born July 8, 1906, in Princeton, Mo., to J.S. (Cooley) Cooper and Electa (Updyke) Cooper.

She graduated from Princeton Schools in 1924, then attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers' College in Maryville, Mo., for one year. From there, she taught at Rockhold Rural School.

Mildred married Jesse (Hal) England on Aug. 1, 1927. To this union, one son was born, John H. England.

They lived most of their working years in Forescue, Mo., Essex, College Springs, Leon and Atlantic, Iowa. Hal was a superintendent, teacher, coach and official. Mildred provided room and board for the out-of-town teachers.

In 1963, they retired to Princeton, Mo., to live and care for Mildred's mother at the old home. Preceding Mildred in death were her parents, a brother, John, and husband, Hal, on Nov. 5, 1996. She is survived by son, John H. England, of Knoxville, one nephew, Doc Wayne Mahood and wife, Bobbi, of Geneso, N.Y. 

Mildred was a member of the Methodist Church. She passed away Aug. 28, 2012, at Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville. She was buried in Princeton, Mo. The Lord's Prayer was prayed together at the cemetery.
