---- — Evelyn Lorraine Marsh was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Marion County, the daughter of Jesse and Icle (Sweem) Ellis.

She graduated from Knoxville High School and then attended business training. Evelyn then worked in Des Moines for a few years. On Sept. 8, 1939, she was united in marriage to Daniel Lee “Danny” Marsh in Unionville, Mo. The couple first lived in Wichita, Kan., and later moved back to Knoxville in 1944. Evelyn then stayed home with the children. When the kids were older, she worked as the bookkeeper for Supervalu and then for the Ford garage.

In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed the Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and bowling. She also served as the secretary for the Wednesday night bowling league for several years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Altar & Rosary Society and a Gold Circle Member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Family was very important, and she and Danny rarely missed a child or grandchild’s sporting event. She cherished her family and having everyone together for family dinners and holidays.

Evelyn passed away on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at the Pella Regional Health Center at the age of 94 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Danny on Sept. 28, 2003.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Teresa Glover and husband Dwight, Lynda Graves and husband Arden, Danny Marsh and wife Darla, Deb Scott and husband Craig, and Pam Webb and husband Dennis all of Knoxville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

A Rosary Service was held at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home – Knoxville on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Anthony Catholic Church – Knoxville on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, with Rev. Stephen P. Ebel, Celebrant. Music was provided by Katie Davis, vocalist and the selections were “Amazing Grace”, “One Bread, One Body”, “In the Garden” and “On Eagle’s Wings”. Casket Bearers were Rick Glover, Steve Glover, Lory Johnson, Danny Marsh IV, Denay Marsh, Steve Scott, Sara Scott, Sam Webb and Kelsey Webb. Interment was in Lincoln Cemetery – Knoxville.
