---- — Funeral services for Bill Minard, of Knoxville, were held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Lane, officiating. Burial followed in the Lincoln Cemetery. Musical selections of: “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain”, “Have I Told You Lately that I Love You”, “Old Rugged Cross” and “Another Angel Just Entered Heaven” were shared. Casket bearers included: Shannon Kridelbaugh, Thomas Bates, Daniel Pettyjohn, Shane Kridelbaugh, Justin Mendenhall and Wesley Smith. Honorary casket bearers were: Oscar Boucher, Joshua Smith, Dale Woolridge and Jeremiah Smith.

William Henry “Bill” Minard was born December 25, 1922 in Plano, Iowa the son of William Henry Minard and Ada Faye (Sprague) Minard.

He was raised in the Plano, Iowa area and at the age of 13 he took a job hauling coal miners to and from work. Bill later farmed for several years. He eventually took a job at Agan Ford, in Knoxville, as a mechanic. On June 26, 1981 he was united in marriage to Anna Lankford. In the late 1980’s Bill retired from the Ford dealership and then managed a campground at Lake Red Rock. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking. He was often seen sitting in his lawn chair and visiting with friends that drove by the home on Rock Island Street.

Bill passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 90 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Wilbur, Frank, John, James, George, Emma, Sarah, Mable, Mary, Irene, Margaret and Bonnie.

Those left to mourn his passing include his wife, Anna; children and step-children: Diane (Jerry) Thomas of Oskaloosa, Lauretta (Roy) Smith of Des Moines, Sharon (Warren) Keegal of Knoxville, Marie Mendenhall (Richard) of Lemons, MO; John Boucher of Newton, Nellie Boucher (Brian) of Knoxville, Laff “Oscar” Boucher (Cathy) of Des Moines and Dale Wooldridge (Michelle) of Knoxville; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
