---- — Celebration of Life Services were held Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at the Milo Christian Union Church. Interment was at the Belmont Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Jericho Hills Campground. Online condolences for the family may be left at

Deloris was born June 12, 1962, in Knoxville, to Doyle and Nalta (Oxenreider) Brown. She was raised in Melcher-Dallas and graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School in 1980. While at a football game she pointed out a boy to her mother and said she was going to marry him. That boy was Darrell Goering and they were married on Oct. 20, 1984, in Melcher-Dallas. They have been blessed with two children: Darrell Goering III and Lacey Goering.

Deloris worked for Charter right after high school and then worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield until Darrell was born, then she found her true occupation; a stay at home mom. She loved raising her children and was especially proud to be a grandma. She loved all her family and also enjoyed helping all her relatives, friends, and neighbors. Her church was a very important part of her life and she volunteered her many, many talents and time to being a Sunday School Teacher, serving on church committees, and she especially enjoyed the mission trips she and Darrell took together.

In 2001 they bought the Milo Locker and together they turned it into a successful and growing business for their family and community. Deloris and Darrell were always best friends; she wanted to go fishing, mushroom hunting, bow hunting, and deer hunting. She even shot a nice buck on her first hunting excursion. Deloris may have enjoyed all these outdoor activities, but she really just loved to be with Darrell.

Deloris passed away Dec. 12, 2013, at her home after a long battle with cancer. Her father, Doyle Brown; and a brother, Robert Brown, preceded her in death. She will be missed by her mother, Nalta Brown; husband and best friend of 29 years, Darrell Goering II; her children: Darrell (Sarah) Goering III and Lacey Goering; three grandchildren: Hannah Lynn, Adam James, and Drake Allen. Also surviving are siblings: Doyle Lee Brown, Malinda (Dave) Johnson, Marvin (Lori) Brown, Darrel (Jody) Brown, and Pam (Bob) Carpenter along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
