Sandra Redding

Knoxville —  

A celebration of life service was held for Sandra Redding of Knoxville on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the Graceland Cemetery with Pastor Brent Hanna officiating.  A musical selection of “I’ll Fly Away” by Alison Krauss was shared.  Casket bearers were  Jim Redding, Brian Rankin, Griffin Allsup, Brent Rankin, Chad Allsup and Sean Allsup.

Sandra Kay Redding was born Dec. 11, 1961, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Grant and Priscilla (Allsup) Rankin.

Sandra was raised on her parent’s farm near Bussey. She attended Twin Cedars Schools, graduating with the Class of 1980. In the fall of 1980 she went to work for the Iowa DNR at the Wallace State Office Building in Des Moines. She was currently an administrative assistant for the DNR. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to music, playing guitar, baking and her pets. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her son, Jesse.

Sandra passed away on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics at the age of 51 years.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Jesse Redding (Nichole) of Knoxville, parents, Grant and Priscilla Rankin of Bussey, brother, Mike Rankin (Dawn) of Knoxville and her in-laws, Tom and Gay Redding of Bussey and many other family members and friends.
