Phoenix, Ariz. — Carrie Louise (Apel) Ellis, born Oct. 24, 1914, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2014, in Phoenix, Ariz., at the age of 99 years. During her most recent stay in Ironton she was active in the Lutheran Church and in Eastern Star.
There will be a graveside ceremony at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, at 1 p.m. on May 9, 2014, with Pastor Kristine Dohrmann of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating. She will be put to rest in a place she so longed for, next to her husband. Williams Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
