Annette Davis

A celebration of life for Annette Davis, age 87 of Knoxville, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Attica United Methodist Church at 11 a.m.

Annette Grace Robertson Davis was born Nov. 1, 1925, on a farm in rural Mahaska County, near Lacey, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde Edwin Robertson and Jennie Grace (Masteller) Robertson.

She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Oskaloosa High School. Annette was married in 1946 and lived in Marion County until 1964. She then lived in Monroe County until moving to Knoxville in 1972.

Annette worked for the A.S.C.S. office for a few years and then took a job with Community National Bank. She retired in December of 1992 from Brenton Bank.

Annette passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Locust Hill at the age of 87 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Elmer Robertson.

She is survived by her children: Robert Davis of Clive, Leslie Branson of Des Moines and Joellen Davis of Lakewood, Colo.; 4 grandchildren: Brandt, Jade, Greg and Jack; great-grandson, Max and many other family members and friends.

My very best friend Junior Briggs – I owe my life to Junior, several years ago I did not want to cook and Junior kept me eating and healthy. Junior was the most generous, loving and giving person I have known. He was good and wise beyond belief. I am so grateful he was my friend – and to his children, Rosy and Frosty and Gene and Kathy and their families, thank you for being yourselves, I love you all very much.
