Terry Allen "T-Bone" Major

Terry Allen Major, age 59 of rural Knoxville, passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.

Terry was born in Iowa City on April 3, 1953, the son of Edward and Ellen (Parker) Major.  He grew up and attended Albia High School.  He joined the United States Army in 1970.  Terry served his country for three years and was stationed in Germany.

After his service Terry worked for Clow Valve, Van Gorp's and Peterson Construction before working for 3M.  He worked with 3M for 34 years, retiring in 2009.

On July 16, 1982, Terry was united in marriage to Brenda Lea Keegel.  Terry and Brenda shared over thirty years of marriage.  Terry was blessed in life with five daughters: Karie, Amy, Kellie, Tammy and Tina.

Terry enjoyed fishing, camping, mushroom hunting and especially his family.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Major, of rural Knoxville; five daughters: Karie Major and Shawn Johnson, Amy and Chad Olson, Kellie and Scott Rogers all of Osage, Iowa, Tammy and Chris Kendall and Tina and Randy Camden both of Knoxville; and 12 grandchildren: Dacota, Shyloh, Brittany, Scott, William, Lawrence, Charles, Ruger, Casey, Larissa, Madison and Breanna.  Terry is also survived by two sisters: Linda and Rich Runyan and Mary Moore; and two brothers: Gary and Cathy Major and Joe and Amy Haines.

Terry was preceded by his parents Edward Major and Ellen Haines, and her husband Jim Haines; his grandparents; and one brother, Larry Major.

A Memorial service was held Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville.  Burial with military rites will follow services at Pringle Cemetery of rural Bussey.

A memorial has been established to Terry’s family and will be established at a later date.  Condolences may be sent to www.winfieldfh.com.  Arrangements are being handled by the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville.
