JoAnn Wright

Pleasantville —

A celebration of life for JoAnn (Spalti) Wright, of Pleasantville, was held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Flagg officiating.  Burial will be at a later date.  Musical selections of “Country Roads”, “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Free)” and “Dimming of the Day” were shared.

JoAnn passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, surrounded by those who loved her most – both two-legged and four-legged.

She was born Jan. 1, 1932, to Leo and Rozella Spalti. She resided in Pleasantville all of her life and passed away on the farm she loved, where she nurtured her garden into bountiful crops of vegetables, herbs, and fruit. She spent the winters creating paintings and various works of art.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, O. J. Spalti. She is survived by her daughters, Kim McNerny (Dennis) of Pleasantville and LuAnn Ohnemus (Lyle) of Milo, four grandchildren Erin (Shaun), Jessie, Lee and Garrett; and two great-grandchildren Dani and Alayna; Sister-in-law Jackie Spalti of Salem, Ore., and two nephews Mike Spalti (Beth) of Salem, Ore., and Todd Spalti (Jean) of Orcas Island, Wash. She will be missed by many friends, especially close friend Mary Jane McGuire. Last but not least, she leaves behind her beloved four-legged family – Chloe, Skeeter and Sparky.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Marion County Humane Society or to HCI Care Services—Knoxville.  Online condolences may be left at BertrandFuneralHomes.com.
