Liz Uhl

Pleasantville —

Memorial services for Liz Uhl, age 55 of Pleasantville, were held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Mason Funeral Home with Danielle Bertrand, Celebrant.  A musical selection of “Eagle’s Wings” was shared.

Lizette Marie Uhl was born Aug. 22, 1957, in Verona, N. J., the daughter of Charlie and Madline (Deitl) Schmidt.

Liz was raised in New Jersey and following high school, she attended Montclair State University, obtaining a B.A.  She then attained her Master’s degree from George Washington University and her Doctoral degree in Audiology from the University of Phoenix.

Liz took a job in Cherokee, Iowa, where she met her future husband, James Uhl.  She and James were married on July 10, 1982, in Oldwick, N. J.  To this union two children were born:  Jessica and Charlie.  The couple lived in New Jersey for a few years, before moving to Knoxville.  Liz has worked for the Area Educational Association since 1990.  She loved her job because it allowed her to be with, and help children.  Her greatest joys in life were her family and her pets.

Liz passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at the Knoxville Hospital at the age of 55 years.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, James; children:  Jessica of Colorado and Charlie of Knoxville; mother Madline Schmidt of Delaware and brother, Mark Schmidt of New Jersey and many other family members and friends.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Family.  Online condolences may be left at BertrandFuneralHomes.com
