Larry Umble

Larry Umble, 69, of Melcher-Dallas passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Pella Regional Health Care. Larry was born to Carl and Mary Ann (Busick) Umble on Jan. 18, 1944, in Dallas. He received his education from Melcher High School and graduated in 1962. Larry was united in marriage to Colleen Clark on Jan. 25, 1965, in Princeton, Mio. He was employed by John Deere in Ankeny until retirement. Larry enjoyed coon hunting, reading western books, fishing, watching WWE wrestling, and picking on his grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife Colleen of Melcher-Dallas; four children: Tammy (Steve) McBride of Lacona, Lorie Johnson of Trenton, Missouri, Julie (Jim) Tickle of Trenton, Missouri, Linette (James) Washington of Knoxville; eight grandchildren: Kyle Rowe and his fiancée Ashly Robertson, Ryan Rowe, Ashley, Steven and Michael McBride; Josh Johnson; Blake and Sydney Washington, two sisters: Daisy (Mel) Tyler of Pahrump, Nevada, Karen Mitskoff of Lyman, S. C., niece, Theresa (Jim) Nighswander of Kentucky, three nephews: John (Stephanie) Hlad of Monroe, Steve (Sherri) Hlad of Knoxville and Joe (Sarah) Hlad of Indianola, and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Ann Umble, son, Christopher Umble, nephew, Carl Wade Mitskoff, and brother-in-law, Gary Mitskoff .

Funeral services were Wednesday, April 10, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Interment was in Dallas Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Umble family. Condolences may be left at pierschbacherfuneralhome.com.
